Yes, most travellers do. There are two routes: a visa on arrival, which we arrange for itineraries that include at least one city in the south of Algeria, or a consular visa, which you apply for at an Algerian consulate and for which we provide the supporting documents.

Travellers whose itinerary includes at least one city in the south of Algeria and who book through a licensed Algerian agency. A trip that stays only in the north does not qualify.

The authorisation must be requested no less than 15 days before you arrive. A request filed later is refused.

Paid in cash on arrival: €35/$38 for 1–2 days, €70/$76 for 3–7 days, €135/$147 for 8–10 days, €170/$185 for 11–15 days, €340/$370 for 16–30 days. Indicative, current as of September 2026.

Yes, for organised travel with a licensed agency and local guides. Follow local advice and do not travel to remote areas unaccompanied.

For the north, April to October. For the Sahara, October to April.

Arabic, Tamazight and French. English is less common, but our guides speak English, French and Arabic.

By bank transfer, in euros. For tailor-made and group trips a 30% deposit confirms the booking and the balance is due 30 days before departure; we send the account details with your confirmation. Our model itineraries are group trips, typically 10–15 people. Travelling as a couple or a smaller group? We build the same trip privately at a tailor-made price.

Yes. Travel insurance covering cancellation is required.

Every trip page lists its own meals. As a rule: half board — breakfast and dinner — on the northern legs, and full board in the Sahara, where there is nowhere else to eat.
